Vision has won a significant industry award for our work on a large-scale renovation project at the Federation of Master Builders’ South West Awards 2025.
The award-winning project is a luxury upgrade to a 1930s family home overlooking the Exe Estuary. Extensive works were undertaken including updating an indoor swimming pool and adding a steam room; creating a bespoke cinema room; converting an attic space to guest accommodation; designing a new bathroom; updating bedrooms; and landscaping the extensive gardens. You can see several case studies for the project here.
New technologies and solutions have been utilised including a system controlling lighting, heating and blinds for the entire home via an app, custom-made bedroom storage and an innovative irrigation system for the flower beds utilising rainwater harvesting.
The judges said that the transformation delivers “comfort, style, and cutting-edge automation, redefining modern family living in a timeless setting”.
Vision founder Ross, who collected the award with Vision’s Site Manager Christian Dally, said: “We are over the moon to bring home this award to Exeter. The project has been a real labour of love for the team, with plenty of challenges along the way as would be expected in an older home.
“The homeowners put their trust in Vision’s expertise for this major renovation and continued to live in the home for much of the renovation period requiring us to work closely with them to cause as little disruption to their lives as possible.”
The client’s testimonial referred to Vision as a “group of passionate professionals dedicated to bringing our vision to life. Their decades of industry experience shone through in every detail, from innovative design to meticulous execution” and described the finished project as “nothing short of spectacular – a beautifully renovated space, both inside and out, that has exceeded our expectations”
The FMB Awards are judged by leading industry experts, celebrating not just exceptional builds but the dedication and craftsmanship of the building industry. Vision will now go on to compete as a finalist in the national awards which are being hosted in Manchester at the end of September.
Wish us luck!
