Salone di Mobile '22
Artelinea are celebrating their 60th anniversary in style with the release of some stunning new collections, announced during the recent Salone del Mobile in Milan.
The company, for those that don’t know, are a world leading manufacturer of luxury bathroom furniture and mirrors. They are experts in working with glass and crystal, actively researching materials, and developing new working methods for their products.
An Italian company, proud of its Florentine heritage, Artelinea has always sought to be innovative and stylish with its use of materials. Looking through their latest offerings we are sure you will agree that they have achieved that aim.
With some stylish revisions of classic designs and some completely new ranges aimed at a more contemporary audience, join us as we explore their latest products revealed this summer.
Tristano e Isotta
Striking and stylish, the new Tristano e Isotta (Tristan and Isolde) are an example of bold design and mastery of material. Drawing inspiration from the long enduring myth and Greek architecture, the masculine and feminine forms are represented in the styles of the columns. Designer Anita Brotto explains that Tristan draws inspiration from the solid Doric style, first of the Greek architectural orders. In comparison, Isolde is inspired the caryatid form, her traditional basket replaced by the basin.
Dicroico
Dicroico, a fresh and vibrant approach, uses material and colour combinations not seen in the Artelinea catalogue before. It is aimed at catching the eyes of a contemporary audience. Designed by Davide Vercelli, it is a range of free-standing basins which are made using four slabs of stratified glass. Cleverly the colour perceived alters according to the angle at which the material is viewed, this is thanks to a film in between the layers. It interacts with light in a different way according to its degree of incidence, shaping a different coloured shadow depending on how you look at it.
Plissé Legno
Plissé Legno proudly accentuates clean, and simple lines. A fusion of complementary materials, the collection features a new natural wood covering which is enriched by the brilliant glass and contrasting metal used throughout. The wood has also been given a fluted finish which plays with the light and gives a sense of movement. Artelinea describes this effect as tridimensionality. Shown here with a Totem basin, a respectful nod to the 50’s which utilises the simple, sleek lines that epitomise the era.
“The beauty of wood combined with the elegance and refinement of glass and metal”
Studio Bizzarri Design Associati
+Skin
The +Skin collection is a range of versatile cabinets which can be customized with a choice of finishes. As part of their anniversary celebrations Artelinea are adding the wonderful, +Skin Ossiddo (oxidised) finish to the collection. Oxidised panels are individually matched once their natural, unique patterns have developed. Created in combination with Studio Bizzarri Design Associati.
Dama
The Dama collection has been refreshed with a new look that pairs the elegant Dualite® with customised touches worked in metal. A new reinvigorated take on the furniture that showcases the expertise of Artelinea, designed by Anita Brotto. Dualite® is a laminate that allows the vanities to be constructed almost entirely in glass. This also allows for the visually stunning effect of two different colours and/or surface finishes to be used, providing striking contrasts or harmonious blends between the interior and exterior of the furniture.
Milano
Designer Anita Brotto has created a collection of thermomoulded sit on basins, making good use of the technical capabilities of Artelinea. The Milano collection includes round and rectangular forms available in translucent and rear varnished glass. Depending on the material chosen a different colour option is available. The exclusive material developed by Artelinea, Opalite® is also used, providing opaque black and white finishes.
Graffi
The Graffi collection sees Artelinea draw on their roots in mirror manufacture with a fresh perspective from designer Davide Vercelli. Two models are available each with diffused lighting. These rear varnished mirrors play with light and reflection through the use of laser etched designs inspired by the sun.
“The star par excellence, the symbol of strength and rebirth.”
