As part of a wider renovation, Vision undertook the refurbishment of two bedrooms; the first belonging to the teenage son of the homeowners, the second a spare room for guests. The designs for both rooms were created in-house by Vision
As this is the original part of the property dating back to the 1920’s, the rooms were dated – both in design and fabric. The first step was to strip them right back to bare brick and start again – using modern methods of build and finish.
All existing flooring was removed to facilitate the installation of underfloor heating in both bedrooms. As well as providing cosy warmth, this allowed the removal of the radiators, adding additional wall space for storage. Unsurprisingly the teenage bedroom was crying out for more storage, so we designed a bespoke, discreet storage solution including shelves, rails and drawers.
Along with practical solutions, a creative addition was intelligent RGBW lighting concealed within the coving, providing an attractive ambiance at the touch of a button.
Both bedrooms were upgraded with new windows to provide enhanced insulation. Smart new doors were amongst the finishing touches to bring the rooms bang up to date, with additional tilt and turn doors enabling access to the balcony.
The result is two simple but innovatively designed rooms that offer a timeless appeal; our client’s son was very impressed with his new space! While this was a straightforward project, it resulted in superb finishing and better use of the available space for the client, his son and guests.
The clients remained living in the property during renovation works, so the team was careful to carry out any disruptive and noisy work with careful consideration of their lifestyle and daily schedule.
This refurbishment project took just under three months to complete.
