Respecting the building’s listed status, all extensions and alterations used conservation-grade materials including slates, Clement rooflights, and joiner-made sweet chestnut windows. The ground floor was redesigned to include a new entrance lobby, home office, cloakroom, and a bespoke utility and larder area. Repairs and upgrades were carried out across chimneys, guttering, sash windows, and fascia boards—combining heritage care with modern performance such as underfloor heating and SMART home controls.
Substantial groundwork addressed longstanding drainage issues through new pipework and a detailed drain survey. Reinforcement of a compromised barn wall involved 60m³ of concrete under structural direction. Infrastructure was future-proofed with new cabling and pipework throughout. The previously unused Secret Garden was revitalised with levelled ground, turfing, and services for a future summer house—transforming it into a tranquil outdoor retreat with stunning views.
